Dinah-1

Dinah rolled over and sighed. There had to be a reason Carl and the others were taking so long. She wanted to know what was happening with the human! She had been the one to pick that particular human, an outcast, uncontent where she was. A human who might have enough of a brain to actually help the rebellion. Why was this taking so long?! Surly she hadn't picked the wrong human. The girl had been strong and showed signs of an iron will, not unlike the one Rainia had possessed at her age. Rainia was skeptical about the whole thing, she had wanted to let all the humans burn in the city but Dinah and Carl had convinced her that an army of humans working from inside would be just what they needed. Dinah jumped up and wrapped herself in her cloak, she slipped into the trees to wait for the vampires. Where were they? Had something happened to them? Had the Guards caught them? She stiffened as Carl and the rest of the vampires filed into view. "What happened?" Carl raised an eyebrow, "Worry much Dinah?" Dinah walked over and grabbed a fistful of his shirt. "What happened to the girl?" She asked in a low, even voice, the one she used when she was ready to start smacking things around. "She's meeting me at the clearing in two day's time. Then I have to explain about the rebellion." Dinah's eyes sparkled, " That's where I come in. I'll meet you here at firnath*." She turned and was momentarily startled to see Rainia standing behind her, the Elder was tall and pale with blue-black hair that swirled around her shoulders. "The girl has agreed?" Carl stiffened, "Not yet. First I have to explain the rebellion to her and convince her to join. We were lucky we even got her to listen to us. She at least has more of a mind then I expected." Rainia nodded and turned to go, she seemed to remember that they were standing there and turned back. "Very good work. I was skeptical at first but your idea is excellent. As soon as the girl is on our side we start the rest of the plans." After she she had walked to the edge of the trees she called over her shoulder, "Oh and find out her name." Carl laughed, "It's Eve." Dinah stood there, Eve. That was a good name for a warrior. A time when things where on the edge of change. She had chosen well, been elevated to a rank as high as the vampires, and now she would get to meet Eve, the girl who had catapulted her from her life as a soldier to the life of a high ranking officer. things were definitely looking for Captain Dinah Greentree, one time fugitive from the city and enemy of the Elders. She looked at Carl, "You'll be here?" He scowled, "Yes, but you won't." She glared at him until he sighed and explained," I told here I would leave everyone else at home." She grinned, "Did you specifically say you wouldn't bring anyone else, or did you just say you wouldn't bring the vampires?" He narrowed his eyes, "You are a very scary little elf. At firnath it is." The vampires melted into the trees and Dinah turned back to her tent. Things were looking up for her, and it was about time was all she could say.
